Hydroxypropyl guar gum is usually a white or light yellow powder. It is highly soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether and ketone. Its aqueous solution is relatively stable at room temperature or within the pH range of 2.0 to 12.0. However, when heated above 70℃, its viscosity drops sharply and it can be degraded when exposed to strong oxidants.
